While launching Uber’s new brand identity evolution, we also wanted to update library of illustration assets for global use. Some stories simply cannot be told through photography. We use illustrations to share these more abstract ideas and emotional stories. Building on the expressive nature of the brand, illustration gives us the tools to visualize the intangible stories we need to help others reimagine with us. Employed texture and detail to capture nuanced perspectives of everyday life. And represented people of all cultures through a lens of authenticity with an eye towards bold contrasts and captivating perspectives.
I had the privilege of working with incredibly talented roster of illustrators from Handsome Frank, Synergy Art, and MUTI. I sought to feature personality in both individuals and environments, knowing that every character has a unique story to tell. I created a comprehensive list of new illustrations, managed feedback from stakeholders, and art directed the illustrations and animations.
