The API community is not a monolith, but part of a tapestry, connecting people belonging to a plethora of rich and vibrant cultures from Pakistan to the Philippines, from The Kingdom of Tonga to American Samoa.
I built this design system on that idea of a tapestry, using the circle and square from our parent brand system to create a pattern, sourcing photography from the Asian at Uber ERG, and using the ERG lotus icon as inspiration for the logo. During the month we celebrated through talks from Asian leaders, traditional dress day, career development classes and cooking classes, and community volunteering. As an Asian American it was a great joy to work with an ERG and my creative team to build this design system that elevates and celebrates what it means to be a part of the Asian community.
